Hey guys! Christina here (from Equus-Sims..I think most of you know me by now, surely!)
I love forums too! I've joined all the ones created so far, but I hope this one will last! I agree, it's nice to have a place to come and show off things that I can't at Equus (I try to keep it uncluttered there) so I hope you guys like a lot of picture spam!
Hm..a little introduction is in order, I suppose, since my profile is currently incomplete at the LEC site, so..
I'm 22 and I'm from Texas I'm more of a princess than a cowgirl though, and I prefer to ride English and wear prissy britches over dusty cowboy boots and Wranglers.
I'm also a city girl since, although I've moved around a lot, I was raised in the suburbs of large cities. My passion for horses began when I was three, probably, and I started riding when I was five. I ventured out every day several miles to a place called King's Bridge Farm, where for many years I learned the basics of riding, until I moved onto some more advanced skills like jumping. Since then, I've taken riding lessons for many years and at many different places. I've studied the art of Dressage most recently, but my heart still lies in jumping.
I don't have much of a competition portfolio. I used to show when I was younger, but as I got older, things like school and friends (and a boyfriend) became more time consuming.
I do own a horse, sort of. He was bought for me several years back by my grandparents as an incentive to move closer to them. That wasn't really practical and they wouldn't allow me to move him to Texas, so..I don't really claim him as my own anymore, although I'm the only one who ever worked with him. His name is Missouri's Lucky Touch, out of Rex's Golden Touch (grandsire, National Champion Fox Trotter), and I do forget his sire's name But anyhoo, so there for a few years I rode him when I went to my grandparents, instead of taking lessons back at home.
Nowadays, I'm a super busy college student who studies 3D Animation and Game Art. I don't really have time for horses anymore, and I haven't for a few years now, since I began my college career.
I opened Equus-Sims back in like..2009, but it didn't really kick off until early last year/late 2010. I created it with the intention of uploading content for The Sims 2, because there were no sites like that, anywhere! And I wanted to have a place to share my creations with other players who wanted to bring the equestrian lifestyle to their Sims 2 game.
Of course when Sims 3 Pets was announced, that's when everything changed and the aspirations for the site expanded, including starting Registries for different horse breeds. I did want to start a forum at the time, but I didn't expect the community to grow so fast as it did..and it's just Rachel and myself, and a forum takes many people to run it!
I look forward to getting to know all of you!
