I love books!! I read mostly young adult, but I do read some adult urban fantasy. My favorite books are the Harry Potter books, The Hunger Games, Vampire Academy, Wicked Lovely series, and anything by Kristin Cashore. I also read Daughter of Smoke and Bone recently and loved it!
Anyone going to see The Hunger Games in March?? I'm so stoked!

I love to read also -- however, lately most of my reading has to do with school. I'm a bit old for "young adult" reading, but I remember when I was in high school how much I read. I loved Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts (http://www.amazon.com/Where-the-Heart-Is-ebook/dp/B000Q67J5M/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1327382794&sr=8-9) and The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Bluest_Eye) -- both VERY good books.
Now I tend to read mostly science/biology non-fiction...
...because I am a nerd.

Oh I loved Where the Heart is! One of the few required books I read in HS that I loved. And the movie was super cute If you're a bio nerd, I'm a history nerd I have just as many non-fiction history books as I do fiction. Can't get enough!

I don't read as much as I used to, not by a long shot, but I'm a former hardcore bookworm. Most of my life it's been at least a couple of books a week. Nowadays I tend to revisit old favourites mostly. I read the LOTR trilogy and The Hobbit about once a year, as well as some Swedish classics and one or two Austen novels. Another series I love dearly and don't mind reading again from time to time are the Sharpe books by Bernard Cornwell.

My boyfriend is obsessed with LOTR! I haven't read them myself (so daunting! but I did read Game of Thrones) but I love to make my boyfriend tell me stories from the Silmarillion.

I looove reading. During the school year, my reading is mostly from my classes because my school gives SO much work. I have read the Hunger Games, and I've only really liked the first book. The other two I wasn't a fan of, especially the third. (Too romancy for me. I prefer violence to romance.) I'm a huuuuge Stephen King fan. I've read every hit he's put out, and a lot of his more obscure books. I'm also a fan of John Irving (: A Prayer for Owen Meany changed my life.

My favorite series is by Lauren Willig. It's the Secret History of the Pink Carnation series...I think I'm on like, book 5 now. After I finish this I'm going to jump right into Game of Thrones, since it's only the best TV-series ever!

I love to read =3 When I was younger I would speed through books in school that my teachers kept having to place me higher and higher xD Now I've been told I read at a college level or some such thing. I'm jealous of my cousins cause they can speed through books even when there's really loud noises going on. I can't have noise going on around me cause then I'll forget what happened in the previous parts. I also can't put a book down for long or else I forget everything and have to start over. I don't get as much time to read as I used to now that I work full time >.<
My favorite series would have to Warriors by Erin Hunter, The Immortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare, and Confessions of Georgia Nicolson by Louise Rennison (these are some hilarious books, I'm tellin' ya). I also enjoy various other series that I can't remember the names of. I love Mo Hayder's books, especially Birdman. My personal favorite genres are comedy fiction and murder mystery. The gorier/scarier and/or the funnier the book is the better for me.

My boyfriend is obsessed with LOTR! I haven't read them myself (so daunting! but I did read Game of Thrones) but I love to make my boyfriend tell me stories from the Silmarillion. I've read the first 2 1/2 books from the ASOIAF series but thought they were badly written and much prefer the TV adaptation. The Hobbit is quite a bit easier to get into than the trilogy I'd imagine, but it took me two reads to start liking it for some reason. The Silmarillion is wonderful, at one point I was actually better at Middle Earth history than our own. ;D

I am a reading fanatic. I drive my parents NUTS finishing books in a week when I have nothing else to do. I read on my spare time (fanfiction mostly) but in original works, I love to read romance, paranormal, supernatural (think demons), fantasy, action, historical, gay&lesbian, and graphic novels (aka manga).
I love the HP books but I need to catch up on it lmfao.
I love to read and get lost in books. I remember reading a romance that involved horses and how the healer used the salt water to heal a horses' hoof. It was really good.

This sounds like a thread I can get behind! I'm also big on reading, and will read just about anything. Right now I'm kind of on a YA kick after being out of that scene for a number of years, but I justify it as "research," being an aspiring writer and all. ;) I too am a big Harry Potter fan - my Facebook statuses after meeting DanRad last fall is enough of a testament to that! - and I'm also big on YA fantasty and non-YA dystopians. Not to say I don't read and enjoy YA dystopians because that would be a blatant lie, but I go nuts over things like Brave New World, 1984, Fahrenheit 451, that sort of thing. As for YA fantasy, omg, Courtney, I'm so glad to see another Cashore fan here - I CANNOT WAIT FOR BITTERBLUE, GAH! I could talk about YA fantasy all day (Melina Marchetta! Megan Whalen Turner! Tamora Pierce!) but I will spare you all. For the moment. :p Oh, and as Christina can testify, I'm a huge fan of the A Song of Ice and Fire series as well. I do agree with Io that they are not the best-written of books, but I am so entranced by the characters and story that I generally don't even care. Except for the sex scenes. Those metaphors are the WORST. >_< Does anyone else have a Goodreads account? Mine's here: www.goodreads.com/user/show/6136985-erin. I'll warn you now, I pretty much stick to YA on Goodreads because after four years of writing serious essays, when I write a book review, I don't always want to think about it too much. Besides, I'm so behind on my reviews that it'd just be too much to try to chart my non-YA books at the moment. But feel free to add me!
